Australia is a land of opportunities for Nepalese students looking to pursue their dreams. Studying in Australia can be a life-changing experience, allowing you to gain new perspectives, explore new cultures, and expand your knowledge. However, making the decision to study abroad can also be daunting, especially when you’re not familiar with the process.
At times like these, having a guide to help you navigate the process can be invaluable. That’s why we’ve put together this step-by-step guide specifically for Nepalese students who are considering studying in Australia. We understand the unique challenges and concerns that Nepalese students may have, and we’re here to help.
Step 1: IELTS Test
The first and foremost step for an Australian student visa is IELTS certification. IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System, which pretty much explains what it does. An IELTS certification will certify your proficiency in the English language, based on which universities/colleges will determine if you will be able to understand the teaching in the class.
Step 2: Offer Letter
After you have successfully scored at least 5.5 overall scores in your IELTS test, you can now apply for an offer letter to universities in Australia. An offer letter proves that you are fit for education in Australia, which is essential when you apply for a student Visa.
Documents required for Offer Letter:
- Passport (Photocopy)
- Application form of University/ College (Ask your Consultancy)
- All the Academic Documents to the date
- Work Experience (If any)
- Statement of purpose (SOP)
- Marriage certificate (If married)
- IELTS result sheet
Step 3: Financial Paperwork
You must be able to show legit paperwork that you or your guardians are able to fund your educational fees and housing expense. You should be able to show that your bank balance is enough to cover the estimated expense during your stay.
After the university has verified your financial statement, they will send an Electronic Confirmation of Enrollment (ECOC).
Step 4: Applying for Student Visa
Finally, it’s time for you to apply for a student visa. This application is sent to the government of Australia and is unbiasedly analyzed based on your prior academic performance, your IELTS score, and your Statement of Purpose (SOP).
Documents required:
- Four filled self-adhesive name and address labels
- Identification (photocopy)
- IELTS certificate
- Visa application form
- Police report
- Academic certificates (photocopy)
- Proof of deposits
- General medical report
- X-ray report
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) insurance paperwork
